The directory is hand-verified — being on the list is the badge. It means a human read the entry and the endpoint answered when we knocked; it is not a test of whether the service delivers after you pay. Here's how a service earns its place.

Editorial, not algorithmic
Every listing earns its place. We read the code, probe the endpoint, and write the annotation ourselves. No auto-generated descriptions, no pay-to-list.
The pawnbroker standard
15 years separating real gold from fake at a counter. The same eye runs this list. If it ships nothing real, it ships nothing. If the badge doesn't match the repo, we catch it.
It has to actually work
A reachable x402 endpoint that does what it claims. Live, honestly priced, honestly labeled.
How to get listed
Open a submission
File a PR against the gold-402 repo with your service — name, endpoint, category, and a one-line description.
We check it
We knock on the endpoint and read the manifest, so we know it was reachable and speaks the protocol when we looked. A human reads the entry and writes the annotation. We do not buy the service, so we are not telling you it delivers what it advertises. Independent rater grades (fuchss and more) get pulled in automatically.
It goes on the list
Approved services render on the directory with the Gold402 Verified badge and any aggregated trust grades. That's the whole bar.
Once you're listed
Every listed service gets a snapshot page and two embeddable marks. Both are rendered live from our data — not static images you copy. If your endpoint stops answering, the mark changes on your own page without anyone asking you to update it. That is the point of it: a mark that can go stale isn't worth anything.
